Trade fairs and conferences play an important part for BMA

The right place to talk
Even though business is an increasingly digital world, there is nothing like a face-to-face talk at one of our industry’s trade fairs or conferences.
The number of online marketplaces and communication platforms may be rising every year, but trade fairs and conferences are still holding their own in international plant and mechanical engineering, for customer relations and information sharing.
Top of the marketing budget
According to a 2014 study by the German Engineering Federation (VDMA), expenditures on trade fairs account for by far the largest share of sales and marketing budgets in the industry, at almost 50 percent. They have in fact risen slightly compared to the previous reporting period.
Hardly surprising then that trade fair and conference activities top the list at BMA, too. The reason is simple: these events are particularly effective in supporting the Group’s internationalisation strategy. Based in Braunschweig, Germany, the BMA Group has 15 sites worldwide.
Sought-after experts
Last year, BMA attended over 25 industry events, ranging from regional conferences to large trade fairs with international audiences of industry experts. “Many of our specialist professionals also give presentations on a wide range of topics”, says Dr Andreas Lehnberger, who heads R&D at BMA.
This year, BMA will again attend trade fairs and conferences of the sugar and food industries around the globe. Take a look at the list of events on the right for a preview. We look forward to talking with some of our long-term business partners face to face and to making many interesting new contacts.
