BMA on top form in sports too
This 7th Braunschweig Company Run started at precisely 6:30 pm, in fine sunshine and with temperatures above 20°C. The 4.5 km circular route started at the exit of the stadium's south stand, going along the 1930s houses on Gudrunstraße up to Bienroder Weg. From there, the tightly bunched field of runners including 24 BMA staff turned into Doweseeweg. Shaded by trees, they passed the halfway mark, shortly before Bullenteich lake.
The runners then followed an almost direct route back. Drawing on their last reserves for the final lap around the outside of the stadium, many of them broke into a sprint once they had passed the east entrance. After an impressive time of 17 minutes and 28 seconds, the first of the runners wearing the lemon-yellow top with the blue BMA logo crossed the finishing line, taking 78th place overall – congratulations!
Another five BMA runners finished in less than 18 minutes, which was good news for the team result. The BMA women's team ranked 13th, with a total time of 1:33:39. And the men's team did equally well, also coming 13th, with a total time of 1:09:58. An excellent result, given that 160 companies had participated.
Many thanks to everyone who took part, see you again in 2016!
