Dr Beer will be responsible for the areas Design, Operations and Services, while Dr Rolf Mayer will in future focus on Corporate Strategy and Special Projects.
Philip Friedel, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, says: "We are delighted to have gained Dr Beer as a manufacturing expert with many years of experience and proven expertise in mechanical and plant engineering in international business." Dr Beer will over the next few years ensure greater stability and continuity in manufacturing processes at BMA, as well as bringing production into line with higher standards and requirements in the sugar industry. He will also help to expand BMA's international service business.
Dr Beer holds a degree in mechanical engineering. Following completion of his doctorate, he started his career in 1993 as Head of Process Planning at Mannesmann Demag AG in Mönchengladbach. In 2000, he joined KSB AG in Frankenthal as Plant and Section Manager for Pump and Valve Engineering, becoming Vice President for international Industrial Engineering in 2005. In 2007, Dr Beer took on the position of CEO and member of the Board of Management at Voith Industrial Services Mechanical Engineering GmbH, an industrial service provider. Five years later, he moved to Zollern, a global technology group, heading the Plain Bearings division.
