Konya Seker production line successfully put into operation

Konya Seker San. Tic. A.S. is the largest sugar manufacturer in Turkey and a member of a cooperative organisation of nearly 60,000 employees. But the company is also active in fields such as confectionery, irrigation systems and animal feed. A new segment in their product portfolio is equipment for the production of French fries.

At the end of 2007, Konya Seker decided to commission BMA Nederland B.V. to deliver a French fries line, which automatically included BMA Automation  GmbH as a cooperation partner. The equipment supplied by us is a 8.40-metre long (more than 27 feet) switchgear system with the following hardware:

  • 5 MP 277 Multipanels (10" colour operator terminals)
  • 1 Siemens S7 - 400 plus extension rack
  • 25 frequency transformers, supplier: SEW, with safe stop safety function
  • 15 soft-start units
  • 40 direct motor starters using contactors

On 14 February 2009, our own and BMA Nederland's expert staff put the new production line into service and handed it over to the customer. This plant will give new opportunities to the regional farmers for planned crop rotation and for cultivating crops that can be processed industrially into value-added agricultural products.

Our expert team is always at hand, providing assistance whenever you need them. Our product portfolio includes complete solutions (as in this case) with individually or series-manufactured equipment, or solutions for subproblems (such as TeleService). In all cases we consider our expert consulting services to be an essential first step. Together with our customer we then aim to arrive at an optimum solution that ultimately turns out to be a real win-win situation.

We are delighted to have been involved in this project, and we wish Konya Seker a successful future in this new sector.
