BMA introduces molasses-massecuite mingler in Asia

No need for water-intensive preheating system

A first: since the start of the year, a molasses-massecuite mingler (MMM) from BMA has been in operation in a sugar factory in the Philippines. It replaces the traditional preheating system, resulting in considerable efficiency gains and cost savings – an approach that offers great potential for sugar production across Asia.

MMM from BMA for the Philippines

Starting this year, a molasses-massecuite mingler (MMM) from BMA has been in operation in a sugar factory in the Philippines. It makes the massecuite less viscous during production, permitting more accurate mixing with the molasses. This produces massecuite of a quality that ensures even and highly efficient operation of the centrifugals.

No reheating: efficiency gains for the sugar factory

With the MMM from BMA, the sugar factory no longer needs its traditional reheater, consisting of heat exchangers that use hot water. Unlike these older systems, the equipment from BMA requires no additional external heat input and is thus far more efficient in operation.

Molasses-massecuite mingler produces massecuite of a consistent viscosity

The sugar factory has benefited significantly from the introduction of the MMM from BMA. Hot molasses is mixed directly with massecuite in an efficient process that produces a massecuite of a consistent viscosity, which it maintains.

Higher sugar yield, lower maintenance

Another benefit is the improved handling of the massecuite in the centrifugal. This makes for a more even production process and a higher sugar yield. The molasses-massecuite mingler is designed for operation without additional water application for cooling or rinsing of the seals. Water pipes are therefore redundant and maintenance is much easier as a result.

Considerable cost savings thanks to the MMM from BMA

When its traditional reheater failed, the sugar factory opted for the MMM from BMA – an excellent financial choice! Firstly, the investment costs for the new equipment are much lower than they would be for a traditional system. A second gain for the sugar factory is the MMM’s remarkably long service life. Additional financial benefits of the switch to BMA equipment are the low operating and maintenance costs.

Molasses-massecuite mingler: guaranteed success for sugar factories around the globe

The MMM from BMA is in operation in many sugar factories around the globe. Its latest success in the Philippines has now opened doors in Asia, too, and sends a clear message to the industry. A number of promising discussions with other factories in the region are already underway.
